Gervinho, Can we say today that Arsenal are better off than the past weeks?

It is true we had some difficulties at the start of the season. We are now finding our feet and we are learning to know each other better, therefore I can say we feel better than the start of the season. At the start of the season, we had some small hitches like players arriving on deadline day, so the team struggled to get its balance. But I think we have now found the balance and we now understand ourselves better.

Has this string of victories (4 consecutive victories in all competitions) boosted the team’s confidence so fast?

It is true we have recorded a number of impressive wins of recent and it is good for us but we still lack a bit of confidence. From the moment the team is in shape, everybody feels fine and the results are coming, it is the whole team that benefits.

Have you had time to know Robin Van Persie, Arsenal’s strongest man at the moment?

I have had the opportunity to watch some of his games with the Dutch national side and Arsenal. He is a world class international, we know his qualities and we know what he is capable of doing and at the moment he is doing us a great job. He is the captain and he leads the team to the top. This is good for the whole team. He is the captain, I must repeat, thus he has to lead by example on the pitch, during training sessions and off the pitch. This is what he tries to do and we feel it on the pitch.

With regards to the team, do you have the feeling to have regained your form very fast as the games followed since the start of the season?

I feel better and I am regaining my level game after game. It is true there are days that nothing works out for the team. The team is making some progress as well as I am doing , its better for us. I have settled in my new colours and I feel better here. I was lucky to have arrived here earlier and I try to take advantage  with a lot of joy and emotions. I enjoy myself here and I am happy.
 
Did you hesitate for long before joining Arsenal?

No, I received other offers which were not serious. My aim was to play in England and for Arsenal and that is exactly what I have done. The English League has several interesting lots of interesting things for footballers . Its all about a different type of football, mentality  in England, reason why several footballers are attracted by this league. Even out of football, England presents several interesting opportunities than elsewhere.

Were you worried with Arsenal’s poor start to the season?

Not really because poor results or a team is crisis is part of football. We just need to keep our confidence now and that is what I have always done as well as defended my choice of joining Arsenal. I joined this club because I love it and I believe in the club’s project.

Do we have a more solid defense in the Premier League than the French Ligue 1?

It is often said of defensive rigour in France, but it is not true. For strikers, it is not often easy for strikers as people think. It is a very difficult and complicated league. It is true it  was difficult for me to adapt in the Ligue 1 but as soon as one adapts to the Ligue 1, I don’t see any reason why you can’t adapt to any other league in the world. I spent the pre-season with Arsenal so I don’t see so I did not have any difficulty at the start of the season.

What are the main differences between the Premier League and the Ligue 1?
Here, there is a lot of rhythm, and it is faster. When you receive the ball, you have no time to waste. You need to get information on the pitch

Have you spoken a lot of your role with Arsene Wenger?

Before signing for Arsenal, we had spoken about that and he knows what I am capable of doing. He thus asked me to play as I have the habit of doing and the way I used to play at Lille. He knows I can still progress but he asked me to play as I used to play.
