« We were the better side »- Wydad Casablanca coach Michel Descastel
After picking a ticket for the Champions League finals by holding Enyimba to a goalmless draw on Sunday in Aba, Wydad Athletic coach Michel Descastel feels his charges mastered the game better than their opponents.
The Wydad Coach told Cafonline that he is satisfied with the outcome of the game with a polite confession that he felt immense pressure from Enyimba in the second half of the second leg semi – finals of the Orange CAF Champions League played in Aba.
“You would not expect a team faced with a stiff opposition to shine for ninety minutes.”
“What we did was to play with extreme caution not to concede early goals. It was natural that Enyimba would respond to our first half action. So, the pressure in the second half was expected and we did well to checkmate them.”
“In all, I could say we played better than them and had a better response to all prevailing circumstances”
