CHAN Orange 2011/Angola - Tunisia: Who will succeed the DR Congo?
Angola and Tunisia will play today in the final of the 2nd edition of the Orange CHAN.
Started on February 4, 2011 Sudan Orange CHAN will come to an end tonight. However, one question remains unanswered: which of Angola and Tunisia, will succeed the DR Congo? Very clever one who will venture to give an answer before the denouement of the final. As the two teams, in addition to having the same record, know each other, are equal and respect each other. Indeed, the Palancas Negras and the Eagles, while residents of group D, were separated on a par score in opening match (1-1),before pulling their qualification at the last day against respectively Rwanda (2-1) and Senegal (2-0). In the quarter finals, when the Angolans (2nd with 5 points) got rid of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon (1st Group C with 3 wins in 3 matches) on the score of 3 goals to 1, Tunisians (first with 7 points) put an end to the reign of the Leopards of DR Congo (2nd Group C) on the smallest of scores (1-0). Same story in the semifinals, where selections of Tunisia and Angola blocked the road to two former residents of group A, Sudan, the host country, and Algeria. This, after sessions on penalties after 120 minutes of play resulted in draw, one goal for each part over the two cases. In view of this set , you are entitled to legitimately dream of a tight and very nimble final. Thus, for the assistant coach of the Eagles of Carthage, Khenfir Nizar, the final, far from the remake of the first day will be a completely different game. "It is not possible to compare. The issue is not the same. The Angolans will multiply their efforts to take the decisive advantage. We ourselves are but 90 minutes away from happiness. This stimulates ambition. We know well the Angolan team but it knows us well too. Perhaps each will reserve to the other surprises. Two matches that follow do not necessarily reproduce exactly. But I have confidence in our team ", said Nizar. Appointment is then made for 18:30 UTC at EL Merreikh in Omdurman stadium to follow from beginning to end the denouement of this beautiful African festival made possible thanks to Orange, the official sponsor.
But long before Sudan, the host country, will try to console itself with the bronze medal against Algeria in a classification match. This is an opportunity for the Algerian Hocine Metref and Sudanese Mudathir Etaib who have a common destiny in the semifinals, as unfortunate as they are to atone for both sides. Indeed, these two players, the hero at the quarter finals, have caused the elimination of their respective selection by being led astray during the shoot on goal session.
