Orange CHAN 2011: Senegal's elimination means that the level of the championship is low according to leaders

The elimination of local selection in the first round of the Championship 2011 is a sign of weakness in the elite level of football in Senegal, suggested leaders, coaches and observers in the debates organized by radio stations and daily trades.

Asked about the follow-up to give to the local staff selection, former president of the Senegalese Football Federation, Momar Ndiaye said it was pointless to behead Joseph Koto.

''We are at our place, this selection is an expression of our local football, we must draw the right conclusions from this phase to move forward,'' said the former president of the FSF about for or against the dismissal of the coach of the local.

Semi-finalist in the 2009 edition of CHAN, Senegal was eliminated in the first round of Championship 2011 with a victory over Rwanda (2-0), a draw against Angola (0-0) and a defeat against Tunisia (0-2).

Same story with Serigne Saliou Mbacke DECASA, president of the Football section of the Jeanne d'Arc, penultimate in the Senegalese league 1.

Chairman of Toure Kunda,
Dia Mbaye Diouf criticized the selection sent to Sudan suggesting that this is not the reflection of local football.

“With the group sent to Sudan, we did not deserve to go to the second round” he said.
This is not the opinion of the coach of the U.S. Goree, Pape Faye who believes that the elimination does not alter the acceptable level of Senegalese league 1.

The island club coach demonstrated that the recruitment in recent months of the elite players of Senegal by top clubs in France and Belgium is the evidence that the Senegalese football is fine.

During the last transfer, the local selection lost four players for France (Dieylani Fall party at Auxerre), Ablaye Seck (Anderlecht, Belgium), Alpha Ba (AA Gent, Belgium), Pape Alioune Diouf (Litex Lovech, Bulgaria).
