TUSKER players feted by EABL

The Kenyan Premier League Champions, Tusker Football Club, captain Joseph Shikokoti is out of the country for trials in Europe with an Armenian club.

The team's coach Sammy 'Pumzo' Omollo said the towering defender left the country a week ago where he is expected to stay for a two week trials.

The coach said Shikokoti left four weeks after Itubu Imbem a Democratic Republic of Congo national headed to Yemen for trials.

“The club has accredited both players with CAF for the Africa Club Champions League and if they come back they will be accommodated in the squad and if they get recruited we have their replacements in the team already whom we signed before the transfer window deadline,” he said.

Shikokoti was feted in absentia as the club's best defender by the club's sponsors East African Breweries Ltd’s Tusker Brand ahead of the 2012 KPL season.

Custodian Bonface Oluoch was feted as the best goalkeeper, Crispin Olando (best midfielder), Joseph Mbugi (Most disciplined) and Jockins Atudo was crowned as the overall best player during a luncheon, hosted in the team’s honour.

During the function the coach unveiled the team's new signings who include Peter Opiyo, David Ochieng', Kenneth Wendo, James Macharia, Fredrick Onyango, Jerry Santos, Andrew Murunga, George Opiyo, Patrick Kagogo, Obadiah Njenga and Luke Ochieng'.

Omollo said they have released Chris Liswa, Jeff Oyando, Kenneth Odhiambo, Kennedy Oduor, George Midenyo and Ali Bondo to seek for greener pastures.
