21st Half marathon in Eldoret, Kenya: Kipyego surprises Mutai
The king of the macadam Emmanuel Mutai was expected at the finishing point of the half marathon in Eldoret, but instead, it was Edwin Kipyego. The latter came back to competition after his injury of October.
The king of the macadam Emmanuel Mutai was expected at the finishing point of the half marathon in Eldoret, but instead, it was Edwin Kipyego. The latter came back to competition after his injury of October. With 1H 02 '30 ", Kipyego (24), however, remained very far away from his personal record on the distance (1h 01' 23" in 2011). Apart from Emmanuel Mutai, the winner of the London Marathon, Kipyego also outpaced some very talented champions, namely: Enock Mitei (1h 02'41 "), Victor Kipchirchir (1h 02'47"), Jackson Limo (1h 2 '5 '"), Bernard Kooech (1h 03'03") and Peter Kimeli (1h 03'26 ").
