Kenya’s national cricket squad jets out for India on Saturday where they will be hosted by Andhra Pradesh for training matches.
Kenya will use the tour as part of their preparations for their International Cricket Council Intercontinental Cup against Ireland at the Mombasa Sports Club from February 12 to 15.
After that, two one day international matches will be played on February 18 and 20 at the same venue.
The one day event has gained prominence as they will be used as a qualify for the 2015 World Cup to be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The two finalists in the eight-team tournament will automatically take two of the four slots reserved for non-Test playing teams in the World Cup. The remaining six teams will be joined by four others from the ICC World Cricket League tournaments to fight for the remaining two slots
