African athletes dominated the middle-distance races of the traditional Birmingham meeting in England. Specially thanks to the great success of Mekonnen on the 1500 m. The Ethiopian performed greatly by winning in 3'34 "70 before the Kenyan Birgen (3'34" 88). Note the performances of Meseret Defar on 3000 m flat and the snatched win of the Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge in the unusual event of two miles before the Anglo-Somalian Mo Farah, world champion in the 5,000m in 2011, and the formidable specialist of the long middle distance the Ugandan Mose Kipsorio
