Kenyan Championships of cross country : Karori and Chepkirui champions

It is a Kenyan living in Japan who won the 2012 national title with a handful of seconds ahead of Timothy Kiptoo. Joyce Chepkirui painfully emerged victorious in the ladies’ category.

It is a Kenyan living in Japan who won the 2012 national title with a handful of seconds ahead of Timothy Kiptoo, the only one who resisted in the last home straight. This is the second time that Karoki dominates Kiptoo. The first time was on January 7, 2012 at Kisil (Kenya).   Behind this duo, there were some stars of  the cross country world championship like Vincent Kiprop, Fredrik Musyoki or Geoffrey Kipsang. The ladies’ final was even more hotly contested and Joyce Chepkrui had to gone an extra mile to overcome Margaret Wangare and Edna Kiplagat. It was a divine surprise for   the Kenyan organizers. After the end of the National Championships in Nairobi, the focus is now on the African Championships of the discipline scheduled for March 18 in Cape Town (South Africa).
