South Africa : Heyneke Meyer, Coach
The former coach of the Blue Bulls, Heyneke Meyer, 44, was appointed on Friday, by the Federation of South African Rugby (SARU), to head the Springboks.
He succeeds Peter De Villiers in office since 2008 and whose contract was due to end in December. It's a little revenge on fate for the native of Nelspruit. In fact, Heyneke Meyer was already tipped to take over the team after the World Cup victory in 2007, but after a heated debate on whether to appoint a white coach at the head of the Springbok, the Black Peter De Villiers was finally preferred. Further developments will be made known.
