Kenya and Ethiopia have imposed their talent in the middle distance events in the Val de Reuil meeting. The Ethiopian tizita Bogale won the 1500 m in 4'08 "86 and the Kenyan Cheruiyot Benjamin the 3000 m in 7'57" 45. The meeting was marked by other good African performances like the 2nd positions of  the Ghanaian Vida Anim in the 60 m (7 '29) and the Nigerian Peter Emelieze (6"60), the third position of the Senegalese Mor Seck on the 800 m (1'48 "84) and the second position of the Botswanan Kabelo Kgosemiang in the high jump (2n 23 m).
