Durban Jazz Festival
There's more Ayoba for Durban Jazz Festival as local music powerhouses join the line-up for what promises to be a spectacular display of talent at Hazelmere Dam on 26 December, 2011.
According to Pooe, Durban Jazz Festival is another great opportunity to showcase what South Africa has to offer in music.Keeping allegiance to the true sounds of soft jazz, this year's line-up boasts legendary artists such as Caiphus Semenya and Hugh Masekela. From this, the music segues beautifully to the Afro-centric sounds of Thandiswa Mazwai, Lira, Nhlanhla Nciza and Judith Sephuma.
Boasting a record-breaking 300 000 sales since her debut into the local music scene this past August, Zahara will have her fans singing along to her hit single 'Loliwe' as she graces Durban Jazz Festival this year.
Another crowd favourite, Zakes Bantwini returns to the very stage that launched his musical career just a few years ago. This award-winning artist will be joined on stage by the BET Awards-nominated Hip-Hop act, Teargas.
As it is customary to Durban Jazz Festival, the festival will also play host to five up-and-coming artists, featuring Nkulee Dube, Heels Over Head, Malini and Xolisa Dlamini.
Tickets to Durban Jazz Festival retail for: General Rands 200, Golden circle Rands 250 and Parking Rands 100. Tickets to the festival can be purchased from Computicket & Shoprite Checkers outlets and parking tickets at Petra Port.
