Kwesta Is The Grittiest Rapper

South African rapper, Kwesta, has had one phenomenal year. He released his debut album 'Special Rekwest' late last year which was well received by the local music industry and fast growing fanbase. His singles from his first offering have enjoyed heavy rotation on radio stations countrywide  and featured on METRO FM and 5FM's top 40 charts.  The success of his debut album didn't go unnoticed, the 23 year old scored two nominations for Best Hip Hop album (the only new artist in this category) and Best Newcomer last month at this year's 17th Annual SAMAs (South African Music Awards) which will take place on the 21st May 2011  But his star keeps shining brighter, he was recently named winner of US website, SOHH's (Support Online Hip Hop) joint search with ReverbNation to select 20 unsigned rappers with "True Grit" The True Grit Awards are ran yearly by US music publication SOHH.com and recognises up-and-coming hip-hop talent from across the world. Kwesta is the only artist from outside America to claim the title. With both local success and international recognition, he's proving to be a force to be reckoned with and cementing his place in the music world.
