Impressed by the StarAfrica Sounds songs quality, in particular the 5 finalists ones, the jury returned his verdict : after a very close vote, Kutchala won the final with his song "Gomanan".

StarAfrica Sounds is a competition among young musicians to find the « Song of the Year » for 2010.
For a month, the young artists have been invited to participate in the StarAfrica Sounds competition. The subscriptions are now closed and about sixty artists from all Africa have proposed their songs !
You can listen to these songs on the to discover page. From now on, it’s up to you, StarAfrica.com users, to choose between those sixty artists by voting for the songs which are the most representative of Africa and StarAfrica.com.
The five songs gathering the largest number of votes will be presented to a jury of famous African artists. This jury will choose the final winner, who will hit the jackpot: a professional recording in a studio !

- Toumani Diabaté, a musician and kora player from Mali;
- Dudu Sarr, an African DJ and the founder of the Afrotonic movement;
- Leslie Kasumba, a DJ and producer on the South African hip-hop scene; and
- Thomas Gesthuyzen, the creator of the internet Website africanhiphop.com, which promotes African hip-hop.
